Rock Cycle Diagram
There are 3 types of rocks: Igneous, Sedimentary, and Metamorphic. Igneous rock is hardened magma. The types of Igneous rocks include: Basalt, Granite, Obsidian, Pumice, ect.
Before igneous becomes sedimentary, it has to erode and deposit in an area. Next, the sediment forms layers, and becomes a rock. Types include: Limestone, Sandstone, Shale, ect.
Next in the cycle, sedimentary rock gets caught between tectonic plates. It is transformed under heat and pressure to form Metamorphic. The list includes: Greenstone, Marble, Slate, Soapstone, ect. Then it melts down and the cycle starts all over again.
Keep in mind that the cycle could go backwards, even though this diagram doesn't show all the possibilities.
